A different type of workshop is scheduled for Kirkland for the holidays — hand lettering.
A technique sure to be of interest to graphic design lovers, hand lettering makes Packaging, ribbon, tags, and other items special. Robinson Creative House's Camille will spend two hours teaching students how to perform this art, using TomBow Dual Brush Pens.
After learning the basics, students will be able to design and create their own wrapping paper. They will also be able to keep their pen, lettering booklet, and all the materials they used to create their holiday paper. This includes ribbon, holiday tags, and both white and kraft paper. Hearth will provide festive drinks and small bites, and seasonal music will be part of the event.
Hand lettering is a versatile technique that can be used to enhance any printed project, such as designing a package or addressing an envelope. Calligraphers use pens with a broad tip to design and produce beautiful lettering, suitable for Invitations, wrappings, and similar items.
Modern calligraphy can enhance a company name, website, logo, artwork, or even a tattoo. The Envelopes used for wedding invitations can be created by a calligrapher, making them appear special and distinctive.
The hand lettering workshop is schedule for 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on December 8, at the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland. The hotel is on Kirkland Avenue.
