A cultural institution in Kirkland is having a party and inviting everyone.
The Kirkland Performance Center is 25 years old, and is celebrating with a gala, the first time in four years it will be held in person. This year is especially important because the center is booking twice as many shows than in any previous year. In addition, the center has developed its KPC Studios Facility which will launch a its inaugural arts education program. The center can be rented by community members for special events, and is fully booked already, meaning the center is looking forward to an exceptional year.
Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Nite Wave, a party band based in Seattle. They play covers of songs from the 1980s, paying homage to such artists as A-ha, Billy Idol, and Wham!
In addition to live music, drinks and a delicious dinner will be served. People are encouraged to come dressed in their best fashion from the 1980s, and break out the leg warmers and T-Shirts from their favorite glam metal band. Organizers of events like this could have fun using poster printing to create colorful advertisements for the evening.
The fundraiser and concert is scheduled for September 16. Although the celebration is for a Kirkland organization, it will be held in Bellevue, at the W Hotel, a short distance from Kirkland.
