An annual event will soon bring runners to Kirkland to enjoy gorgeous scenery as they get some exercise.
The Kirkland Shamrock Run is supported by Lake Washington Physical Therapy, a local business whose therapists and owners live in the area. This gives them a personal stake in supporting other small businesses, as well as the community as a whole. They are supporting the run to encourage people to get outside and get some physical exercise, which is a great way to start the year.
The run starts and ends at Juanita Beach Park, with the following schedule. At 7.30am, participants can pick up their packets, at which time the gear check also opens. Announcements will be made at 8.55am, and the main race will begin at 9.00am. T-Shirts and shorts will go on sale at 9.45am, and at 10.00am, the top three winners, both men and women, will be announced. The 1K race for Little Leprechauns begins at 10.00am, and the course closes at 10.30am.
Organizers are asking that participants leave their furry friends at home, but strollers will be allowed. However, they urge that people with strollers be aware of the runners who want to pass them, and runners be kind to those who have strollers or are walking.
The Shamrock Run is on March 17, and green has been declared an appropriate color for participants to wear. When events like this are planned, organizers will often use banner printing to create course markers.Get a Free Quote for T-Shirts
