Preschool friends to open second preschool together

Alli Drinkard and Jessica Dixon grew up together and opened their own daycare in 2013 called “The Growing Tree”. They are now expanding their business in Bellevue and opening up a second preschool called “The Treehouse”.

The sense they want to create at the

daycare is “choice”, “independence” and “exploration”. This vibe, along with the treehouse themed name, would be a great starting point for them to work with a local printing company to create Calendars and other Promotional Products to advertise their new preschool.

Drinkard and Dixon attended the same schools and colleges throughout their young adulthood and even started their own daycare business in High School. Having studied early childhood development and elementary education at Washington State University, they made their visions a reality when they opened the first daycare in 2013.

The entrepreneurs literally had opportunity knock on their door when the owner of a business called Small Wonders came to see them to announce they were closing due to retirement. Although they knew they wanted to expand their initial business within five years, they found this opportunity too good to pass up and their dream was becoming a reality in three years.

They hope to be able to accommodate up to twenty children at The Treehouse, which is a larger number than they can currently accommodate at The Growing Tree.

They envision a lot of quality time with the children attending by having a daily schedule that includes typical activities like art, reading, circle time and outside play. They also intend to bring in the community by having visitors such as local police and firemen along, biology educators for special event weeks such as “ocean week”, and teachers to provide education in music and art.
