P.D. makes the most of fundraising opportunity

The Bellevue Police Department recently took the opportunity of the National Night Out to unveil the latest fundraising attempts for a purposed police memorial. The Bellevue Public Safety Department sold model toy replicas of Bellevue’s police cruiser for $7.50.

The cars are still available and can be purchased at the Bellevue Police Department’s front desk or the Omaha Police Federal Credit Union in Papillion. The idea of selling the model police cruisers came, according to Officer Chris Abbott, from La Vista, where a similar promotion had taken place.

Officer Abbott was quoted in the Bellevue Leader as saying:

“We all thought that was a really cool idea, and it wasn’t as expensive as we thought it was going to be to do the undertaking.”

He went on to say that around 100 cars had been sold in the first two or three days.

The memorial for which the model car proceeds will be used is to be located in front of the new police headquarters. Approximately $45,000 had already been raised from the raffling off of a 2014 Harley Davidson Street Glide, as well from internal raffles.

A wide array of fundraising opportunities exists, and can provide a fun way for a community to come together while support a worthy cause. Print companies can provide several advertising options, which include flyer, banner, and poster printing.
