The new director of the Community Development Department of Bellevue will be Emil King. Such appointments often call for business card printing services.
King has worked for the city for over 20 years. He has been the head of the planning division of the Community Development Department for the past five years where he supervised professional planners who focused on the future of Bellevue as a vibrant, inspiring, and livable community. The result of these efforts has included advancement of the strategic priorities and goals of the city on affordable housing and on environmental stewardship and a major update to the Comprehensive Plan of Bellevue.
King has also been a consultant for counties and cities in the state where he worked on developing plans for growth management and implementation codes. King attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he earned an undergraduate degree in economics and the University of Washington from which he received a master’s degree in urban planning. He is also a certified planner.
Diane Carlson, acting city manager, expressed her pleasure with the appointment of King to lead the Community Development Department, as there will be a great deal of change and growth in the community in the next 20 years. Carlson said that King brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to the position and has strong relationships in the community of Bellevue.
