Bellevue will be hosting its civic engagement class, Bellevue Essentials, this fall.
Bellevue Essentials will provide interactive and immersive learning so that participants can experience the daily operations and structure of city government. They will see how the staff and community work and collaborate to face the many challenges in the city. Attendees will gain the knowledge for making an impact on decision making in the city and have a greater awareness of volunteer opportunities, and an expanded network of people.
Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 9:30 pm and two sessions on Saturday morning, during which attendees will explore parks and neighborhoods. There will be the opportunity to meet staff leadership and members of the City Council as well as staff who run the daily operations of the city. Graduation from the class requires attending at least 9 of the 11 sessions. The cost for the class is $150.
More information about such classes, their schedules, and specific topics is often provided with brochure printing.
There will be an information session held for people to learn more about the program and meet alumni next Tuesday, June 20, at 5:30 pm at Newport Way Library. Bellevue Essentials will be held from September 20 through November 15.
