Unique guitarist heading to Auburn

A guitarist who has created a style of his own is coming to Auburn.

Luca Stricagnoli is one of the world’s most exceptional fingerstyle guitarists. He has developed his own style, which includes unusual tunings, modified use of capos, and playing as many as three guitars at the same time. He has also invented new types of guitars.

Candyrat Records calls Stricagnoli:

“…one of the most exciting new players on the acoustic guitar scene. He bypasses the normal limits of the acoustic guitar and adapts it to any musical genre: from pop to rock, from soundtracks to original pieces.”

Stricagnoli is a native of Varese, Italy, who was only ten when he began playing classical guitar at home before continuing to study in Como, at the Conservatory. At age 16, he left music to focus on martial arts, but returned to the guitar when he saw a video of Andy McKee playing “Drifting.”

He cites his influences as everyone from the rock band Muse to Jamie Cullum and composer Hans Zimmer. He also retains his love of classical music, and performed a cover of Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik/Serenade in G – on a banjo.

Stricagnoli will appear at Green River College, which is located at 12401 SE 320th Street in Auburn, on November 2. To advertise events like this, organizers will often contact a printer to have them use poster printing for the task.
