Auburn plans 4th of July celebration

Auburn is making plans to celebrate the nation’s birthday, and the fun will take up the whole day.

Among the planned activities are train rides and other activities children will enjoy, trampolines, inflatable rides, a number of craft artists, and live entertainment on two separate stages. In addition, there will be food concessions, bocce, mini golf, and a rock-climbing wall. A spray park and shade trees will keep everyone cool. Most artisans will accept credit or debit cards, but people should bring cash to ensure they can make purchases. There is no ATM available.

Along with the parade and live entertainment, a car show will also be held at Gove Park. The fee for car registration is $15 in advance, or $25 on the day of the show. The first 200 participants will receive a free dash plaque. Organizers of massive events like this can add to the fun by using banner printing to create themed decorations for all areas of the venue.

All the activities take place at Les Gove Park at 910 9th Street SE on the holiday itself, July 4. Things kick off at 11.00 am and run through 4.00 pm. Entry to the park is free, but there is a charge for some activities. Wristbands can be purchased for $10 before the event, or $15 on the day. Pets are welcome but they must be well-behaved, licensed, and leashed.
