Spooky doings on the way in Auburn

Auburn is planning a spooky Halloween event that is safe for children.

Trunk or Treat evenings are held in many communities, a trend that has replaced traditional trick-or-treat outings. In Auburn, plans are solidifying for the 2026 Halloween Harvest Festival, as well as the Trunk-or-Treat celebration. The afternoon will offer food vendors, the BOO-seum, crafts, games, and the Trunk-or-Treat experience, all to be held throughout Les Gove Park. The BOO-seum is provided by the White River Valley Museum, where visitors can tour the facility when the lights are out and ghosts walk the halls.

People who would like to take part as a vendor should be prepared to have treats or giveaways for a minimum of 2,000 youngsters. Businesses and service organizations may want to provide information about their programs. The trunks judged to be the most fun, not the scariest, will win prizes. In addition, vendors are encouraged to come in costumes suitable for children 2-10 years of age.

The event has opportunities for community members to get involved. People can help the Auburn Food Bank by bringing food items to the festival of the non-perishable variety, and they can help out the City of Auburn Solid Waste & Recycling by donating old costumes, which will be used for the 2027 Costume Swap.

The Harvest Festival, Trunk-or-Treat and other events are scheduled for October 24, from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm. Les Gove Park is at 910 Ninth Street SE in Auburn. Colorful events often deserve colorful advertising, which organizers can create using poster printing.
