An Australian American artist with credits in both music and acting is coming to Auburn

Rick Springfield began his career at age 13 when he learned to play the guitar. His father was stationed in England, where the young man played in several bands before the family returned to Australia, where he continued performing. He was a member of Zoot from 1969 to 1971, and when the band broke up that year, he signed with Sparmac Records.

He released his solo single “Speak to the Sky” on that label October. It climbed to the fifth spot on the Go-Set singles chart. He recorded “Beginnings,” his debut album, in London and relocated to the U.S. in 1972. He continued recording and performing even as he established a robust acting career. His most recent studio album, “Automatic,” dropped in 2023. His best-known singles include “Don’t Talk to Strangers” and “Jessie’s Girl,” which hit No. 1. A concert review says:

“And it’s impossible not to feel something deep as you stand in the crowd.”

In terms of acting, he made his screen debut in 1977 in the series “The Six Million Dollar Man.” He appeared as a guest star on numerous shows, and was a cast regular on “General Hospital,” playing Noah Drake from 1981 until 1983 and again from 2005 until 2013.

Rick Springfield will be at the Muckleshoot Casino Events Center on Thursday, May 28. When they book a show like this, organizers can use poster printing to develop advertisements to support it.
