Run for love in Auburn

An upcoming event in Auburn is a fun day out for people of all ages.

The Almost 5K Love Run & Walk will be held in person, and is part of Auburn’s Almost 5K, Always Fun Run Series. Other runs in this series include the Poker Fun Run, scheduled for August, and the Glow Run, usually held in November. These events are for everyone of all abilities and ages, and strollers are welcome. The February run acknowledges American Heart Month.

The event is a run/walk using the large loop in Les Gove Park. An actual 5K is 16,404 feet long, but the planned course, which is five circuits around the loop, is short of that distance by 1,138 feet, which is why this is an “almost” 5K. In addition to the run/walk itself, activities are planned for after the race, and vendors will be available with information about American Heart Month.

The Almost 5K Love Run & Walk is scheduled for February 7, from 10.00 am until 12.00 pm. The park is at 910 Ninth Street SE.

Online registration is open now, and the fee is $20 until January 7. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed through this date. The late registration period is January 8 through February 4, and the fee is $25, and on-site registration is $30 on the day of the event. When they plan events like this, organizers can use banner printing to create course markers that will help participants follow the route.
