Tribute to rock legends coming to Auburn

An acclaimed band that pays tribute to a rock band is coming to Auburn, where they will recreate the music of one of the genre’s icons.

Whiskey River has been playing Lynyrd Skynyrd’s music for over 30 years, giving such accurate renditions of the original material that they have been called “America’s #1 Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band.” Whiskey River plays music from the band’s Ronnie Van Zandt era, taking a deep dive into the original catalog.

However, they do more than just play tunes everyone knows; they have taken apart every song and examined them in detail, so they are able to recreate them with amazing accuracy. In addition, they also recreate the look of the band as it appeared on stage, giving audiences the closest thing available to being at an original Lynyrd Skynyrd concert.

The original group was one of the pioneers of the Southern rock genre, and Auburn audiences will be treated to classics such as “Saturday Night Special,” “What’s Your Name,” and “Sweet Home Alabama.” Whiskey River will also play their version of “Freebird,” the live music guitar masterpiece.

Whiskey River will be at Green River College’s Cascade Hall, where they will give audiences a 90-minute performance of the best of Lynyrd Skynyrd. The concert is set for April 6, beginning at 6.00pm. When organizers plan events like this, they often work with printing companies, using poster printing to create advertising for the concert.
