Tournament in Auburn approaches

March Madness brightens up a cold winter month, but basketball fans in Auburn have another chance to enjoy their favorite sport.

Auburn will be the site of the Spring Emerald City Classic, which will be held at the high school. Grassroots 365 (G365) is the organizer of the contest. Every year, the organization promotes more than 100 basketball events for middle schoolers in the Western U.S. The organization also provides awards, arranges media coverage, and promotes programs as well as players. Organizers of events of this type can create programs using brochure printing.

G365 has published information about the event. Among the instructions are the fact the game officials are given the authority to eject coaches and/or players if they engage in unsportsmanlike conduct. The tournament directors and referee assignor will review these actions.

Any coach, spectator, or player who is removed from a game must leave the area of the court and remain out of sight and earshot of the game. Other regulations are available on the organization's website.

G365, founded in 2016, features coverage of the event, individual and team awards, and player stats. The tournaments organized by G365 draw elite competitors and provide play in both girls’ and boys’ divisions. In addition, the organization hires officials certified by the NCAA and CIF, and uses certified trainers for every event.

The tournament dates are April 30 to May 1, with April 20 set as the deadline for registration.
