Superstar vocalist headed to Auburn

A singer who has enthralled millions and successfully performed in various genres is coming to Auburn.

By the time she was five, LeAnn Rhimes was performing in local talent shows, and came close to landing the leading role in “Annie” on Broadway. She went on to appear on “Star Search,” which led to her decision to go into country music.

Her first breakthrough in country music came when she released her album “Blue” in 1996. It climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Top Country Albums chart, and entered the Billboard 200 albums chart at No. 3, and sold eight million copies globally, four million in the United States alone. Rhimes won Grammys in 1997 for “Best New Artist” and “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” for “Blue.”

Rhimes branched out and added pop and adult contemporary music to her repertoire, which led to even greater success. She also began to work in film and television, appearing in the television films “Northern Lights” and “It’s Christmas, Eve,” among many others.

A concert review says:

“. . . the thing that really stuck with me after seeing LeAnn Rimes play live was just how effortless she makes it seem. . . . LeAnn still has it . . .”

LeAnn Rhimes will be at the Muckleshoot Events Center on April 13 at 8.00 pm. Organizers can use poster printing to create effective advertising for events like this.
