Superstar Canadian rockers coming to Auburn

A Canadian band that has gone on to achieve worldwide success will appear soon in Auburn.

Nickelback first got together in Hanna, Alberta, in the mid-1990s, founded by Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake, and brothers Mike and Brandon Kroeger. Like many bands, Nickelback went through several changes of members, and as of 2023, the line-up is Peak, the Kroeger brothers, and Daniel Adair. The original group called themselves “Village Idiot,” and were a cover band, playing the hits of iconic groups like Metallica and Led Zeppelin

The band released their first album in 1996, and in 1999, a Roadrunner executive was told about the group, heard them, and convinced the label to sign them. They broke into the mainstream in 2002 with “How You Remind Me,” a single that went to No. 1 in both Canada and the United States. The song was from the “Silver Side Up” album, which was certified in Canada as eight-times Platinum. They dropped “Get Rollin’,” their 10th album, in 2022, and are one of Canada’s most successful rock bands, with worldwide sales of 50 million albums. They were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2023.

A concert review says:

“I went into this show as a casual Nickelback fan, and left as one who had to immediately go home and listen to their entire discography.”

Nickelback will be at Auburn’s White River Amphitheatre on June 30. When events like this are scheduled, organizers can use poser printing to create effective advertising.
