Pop rock favorites to play Auburn

One of the best-selling bands of recent years will appear in Auburn this summer.

Maroon 5 was known as Kara’s Flowers when they first got together in 1994, at which time the members were still high school students. They released “The Fourth World,” their debut album, in 1997, but with sales limited, the members put their attention on their college studies and reformed in 2001 as Maroon 5.

An independent label, Octone Records, signed them and released “Songs About Jane,” their debut effort, in 2002. The album contained the singles “She Will Be Loved,” “This Love,” and “Harder to Breathe,” all of which helped the album climb to the number six spot on the Billboard 200 chart. “Songs About Jane” went on to become quadruple platinum.

In 2007, Maroon 5 released “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long,” debuting at the top spot on the US Billboard 200 chart. “Makes Me Wonder,” the album’s lead single, hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the group’s first number one hit. Maroon 5 has sold over 120 million records in their career.

A review says:

“The show was full of energy . . . It was our first time seeing Maroon 5 live, the show just made us love them even more!”

Maroon 5 will be at the White River Amphitheater on July 30 at 7:00 pm. Poster printing is frequently used to advertise events like this.
