Parade scheduled for Auburn

Auburn will be the site of an annual parade and remembrance event soon.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Day National Committee designated Auburn as one of the Regional Sites for the celebration of the 2020 Veterans Day. Since 1965, the city has been hosting the Veterans Parade, which has been taking place for over 50 years, and has become one of the biggest parades of its type in the nation.

The event focuses on honoring the nation's active duty military personnel, as well as veterans, in a positive way. The parade recognizes the efforts of organizations that serve veterans, their auxiliaries, and members of the reserves, National Guard, and ROTC. The parade honors everyone who serves, or has served, in the military in any capacity.

More than 6,000 people are expected to participate, including more than 200 units. There will be over 25 marching bands from area high schools, veterans' units, military vehicles, honor guards, and more. Since so many organizations wish to participate, the organizers have more requests than they have space, so they will choose applicants carefully, giving slots go to those whose purpose most closely matches those of the event, and who are able to take part.

The 55th Annual Veterans Parade will be held November 7, beginning at 11.00 am. Appropriate decorations for outdoor events like this can be created by using banner printing.
