Legendary group to play Auburn

A group with more than 50 years in the music business is on the way to Auburn.

The Doobie Brothers are a legendary rock band who have played everything from blue-eyed soul to straight-ahead rock. They first got together in Northern California around 1970, with Patrick Simmons, Dave Shogren, John Hartman, and Tom Johnston as the founding members. They toured throughout San Jose, refining their sound until they released their debut album, “The Doobie Brothers,” in 1971.

The band had its biggest success in the 1970s, when they released their iconic album “The Captain and Me,” which included the tracks “China Grove” and “Long Train Runnin’.” At that time, they released what seemed to be a never-ending string of hits including “Black Water,” “Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me),” and “Takin’ It to the Streets.” In their career, the Doobie Brothers have sold more than 40 million albums and won two Grammys.

A review of the Doobie Brothers in concert says:

“This was the BEST concert and so much fun!!!! The venue was beautiful and the band spectacular. We loved every minute of it.”

Touring with the Doobie Brothers are Michael McDonald and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. The Doobie Brothers will be at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn on October 2 at 7:00 pm, which will be the day after the release of their 15th album “Liberté.” Poster printing is often used to create colorful advertising for events like this.
