Activities for people of all ages are planned in Auburn.
The Halloween Harvest Festival and Les Gove Park Truck-or-Treat will have things for everyone to enjoy. The event will include food vendors, rides, inflatables, crafts, games, and the Trunk-or-Treat trail in Les Gove Park.
Trunk-or-treat appears to have started in the 1990s as an alternative to regular Halloween trick-or-treating. People decorate the trunks of their cars as elaborately as they like, line up, and children go from car to car to gather games or treats.
Anyone who would like to participate in Trunk-or-Treat may register their vehicle free of charge, but must be prepared to provide treats or other giveaways. Civic organizations could use this as an opportunity to provide information about their services. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated (but not scary) trunk, and everyone is encouraged to wear an appropriate costume.
In addition to Trunk-or-Treat, this year will also bring a Harvest Bazaar, which will take place at the Senior Activity Center. With around two months to go, this could be the perfect time to get ahead on holiday shopping.
The Harvest Festival is scheduled for October 28, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Admission to the event is one can of food, which will be donated to the Auburn Food Bank. The bazaar is open from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on October 28, and from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm on October 27. Organizers of outdoor events like this can use banner printing to create sturdy and spooky decorations.
