Delicious event for Auburn foodies

The holiday season is coming up and Auburn is planning to celebrate in foodie style.

The city is hosting a gingerbread contest that salutes one of the staples of the winter holidays and brings community members together for the fun of picking their favorite gingerbread house. Poster printing can be used to provide colorful advertising for events like this.

There are a few rules for those who wish to enter the contest. There are two categories available, adult and youth. Contest organizers say that have room for only 16 contestants, so anyone who registers after that number has been confirmed will be put on a waitlist.

The base of the entries cannot be larger than 2’x2’, and they must be suitable to be seen by observers of all ages. In addition, all the structures must have been built in 2021, and be original works. Ninety percent of the exterior of the structures must be edible, and any structure can be used as inspiration, from cars to spaceships.

Finally, the city has the right to take a structure from the display at its discretion, for any reason.

The contest entries will be on display from December 1 – 18, at the Auburn Community & Event Center on Ninth Street. Hopeful gingerbread architects need to register their creation not later than November 22. Entries are to be dropped off at the center on November 29 or until 7.00 pm on November 30. The winner will be revealed December 20.
