Classic rock comes to Auburn

Two rock legends are on tour together, making a concert twice as much fun.

Steely Dan and Steve Winwood are on the way to Auburn, bringing plenty of memories with them. The founding members of Steely Dan were Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, who formed the band in 1971, creating such an unusual sound that both critics and fans loved their music. However, Fagen in particular disliked performing in public, and they did most of their work in the studio from 1974 onwards, using a varying number of backing artists.

Grammy winner Steve Winwood was a member of the Spencer Davis Group for which he co-wrote the hit songs “I'm a Man” and “Gimme Some Lovin'.” He also worked with the legendary Eric Clapton twice, once as a member of Eric Clapton and the Powerhouse, and again as part of Blind Faith. This supergroup was comprised of Winwood, Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Ric Grech. Short lived, Blind Faith toured only once. Winwood's solo efforts include “Roll With It” from the hit album of the same name.

A review says:

“Steve Winwood and Steely Dan . . . delivered set lists that contained loving jazz-rock riffs, instrumental fluidity and enticing vocals that made their music as current today as it was back in the day.”

Steely Dan and Steve Winwood will be at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn on June 3, at 7:30 pm. Poster printing is ideal for creating striking advertising for events like this.
