Best-selling country artist scheduled for Auburn

A best-selling country/folk singer will appear in Auburn soon.

Tracy Lee Lawrence was born in Texas, raised in Arkansas, and began his career in Nashville, where Atlantic Records signed him in 1991. He released his debut album, “Sticks and Stones” on that label. Four singles from the album made it onto the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Among them were the title track from the album, which hit the top spot on that chart in January 1992.

Thus far, Lawrence has released 14 studio albums, one box set, eight compilation albums, one live album, and 46 singles. The RIAA certified two of his albums, “Alibis” (1993) and “Time Marches On” (1996) 2x Platinum.

He has also received numerous nominations and awards. He was nominated for a Grammy in the category of “Best Country Collaboration and Vocals” for the 1997 album “"Hope: Country Music's Quest for a Cure," and won the Academy of Country Music Awards award for “Top New Male Vocalist” in 1997. The ACM honored him again in 2008 in the category “Vocal Event of the Year” for “Find Out Who Your Friends Are.” A concert review says:

“Lawrence was met with a deafening serenade alongside a standing ovation that reverberated so loudly the entire building felt as if it shifted at its foundation . . . ”

Tracy Lawrence will be at the Muckleshoot Events Center on September 4. When they plan shows like this, organizers have the option of using poster printing methods to promote them.
