Award-winning singer to appear in Auburn

The White River Amphitheater in Auburn has been closed for months, but is now beginning to schedule performances, and an esteemed artist is now slated to perform in Auburn next summer.

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane is better known as Halsey, and is an activist, songwriter, and singer. She first came to public attention when she released her own music on social media, which brought an offer from Astrawerks. She signed with the label in 2014, and that same year saw the release of “Room 93,” her debut EP.

Her 2015 album, “Badlands,” went to No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and in 2017, her album “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom” was the No. 1 album on that chart. She scored again in 2020, when “Manic” went to No. 2. Her singles have also performed well; both “Without Me” and “Closer” were No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

She has received numerous nominations and awards, including two Grammy nominations. This year, Time Magazine included her on a list of the “100 Most Influential People in the World.” A review of Halsey in concert says:

“Words cannot describe how electric Halsey is as a performer . . . It is very rare in today’s music scene to have someone equally as talented as a lyricist and a performer, . . .”

Halsey will be at the amphitheater at 7:00 pm on June 1, 2021, and tickets are already on sale. Poster printing can be successfully used to advertise this type of event.
