Auburn to welcome country artist

A singer/songwriter who has had a record-breaking career thus far is coming to Auburn.

Sam Hunt, a native of Georgia, wrote singles for names like Reba McEntire, Billy Currington, Keith Uran, and Kenny Chesney before launching his own career as a solo artist.

MCA Nashville signed him in 2014. His first studio album was “Montevallo,” which broke numerous records. Five singles from the album charted, including three that placed consecutively on the Hot Country Songs chart, and four that hit number one on the Country Airplay chart. “Leave the Night On,” the album’s lead single, was the number one song on the Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously, marking the first time in 22 years a country artist topped three charts at once (Billy Ray Cyrus held the previous spot). “Make You Miss Me,” also from the “Montevallo” album, topped the charts as well. This made Hunt the first solo male singer to have four songs from a debut album land at the top spot.

Since he began his career, Hunt has been praised for his skill in blending genres, using both pop and R&B in his work. His awards include a CMT Music Award, an American Music Award, and nominations for Grammys and Billboard Music Awards.

Sam Hunt will be at the White River Amphitheater on Saturday, June 29, with his Locked Up Tour. When shows like this are planned, organizers will often use poster printing to create suitable advertising for them.
