Auburn schedules outdoor events

Summer nights in Auburn mean fun for the whole family, as an annual event series continues.

The city's Summer Sounds & Cinema series features movies, live entertainment, and food trucks and food concessions at various parks in the city. A hands-on art project known as ArtRageous is also part of the evening.

On July 24, the location is the Lea Hill Park on 124th Avenue SE, where a concert by Prom Date Mixtape, a tribute band, brings back the music of the 1980s. The music starts at 7:00 pm, and once it starts getting dark, the film “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” will be shown. The movie is rated PG.

The action moves to Sunset Park on 69th Street SE on July 31. The concert, which starts at 7.00 pm, features The Nines, who play the biggest dance tunes from the 1970s to the present day. The film, which is rated PG, is “The Sandlot.”

The last concert of the series is set for August 7 at Les Gove Park, on 9th Street SE. The concert this evening begins at 6:00 pm, and features the Marlin James Band, who play a variety of country music favorites. The cult classic movie “The Goonies,” rated PG, will be shown at dusk. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts to be distributed at each location when events like this are scheduled.
