What's Happening in Auburn, WA…

Auburn preps for Halloween double celebration

Auburn is getting ready for Halloween with a double event that will be fun for everyone.

The city is hosting its Halloween Harvest Festival in conjunction with a Trunk or Treat event for children ages 2 through 10, and their families. The event includes food vendors, crafts, games, and a Trunk-or-Treat that follows the trail in the park. The BOO-seum is also part of the fun, an event at the White River Valley Museum. The museum will turn off the lights, allowing people to explore in the dark, where they are likely to encounter friendly ghosts.

Trunk-or-Treat is open to various types of participants, and the fees vary. They are $10 for non-profits, childcare providers, youth education, and community youth recreation. The fee for retail and commercial vendors is $25. Families and organized school groups may participate for free.

Anyone who wants to take part needs to provide treats or giveaways for a minimum of 2,000 young people. They may include information about their programs, and the most creative cars (not scary, but fun) will win prizes. People taking part are encouraged to come in costume.

The fun is scheduled for October 25, from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm, at Les Gove Park. People who plan to attend are asked to bring one can of food, which is the admission fee, and will go to the Auburn Food Bank. This type of event is perfect for decorations, which organizers can create using banner printing.
