Auburn museum offering special exhibits

A museum in Auburn is planning special exhibits that will appeal to all members of the family, especially the little ones.

The White River Valley Museum has designed a temporary popup exhibit for children from ages 4 through 12. The History Kids Clubhouse will give children and their parents a space to engage in activities that will teach them about the history of Washington State as they have fun. Among the planned activities is a dress-up station for youngsters, which is perfect for taking photos. Storytellers will be on hand at a story nook to relate Native American stories and oral histories, and there will also be a chance for people to play the games once played by Native Americans and early settlers. Families should plan on spending at least 30 minutes in the clubhouse.

The second upcoming event is the holiday classic Festival of Trees. Artificial trees will be decorated following the cultural traditions of various ethnic heritage groups including, to date, the Auburn Marshallese Community, Pacific Asian Empowerment Program, White River Buddhist Temple, Chinese Americans League, Polish Home, the Iraqi Community Center of Washington, the Sons of Norway, and the Sons of Italy. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite tree.

The popup clubhouse runs from October 9 until November 10, and the Festival of Trees from November 20 to January 5. Banner printing can be used to provide festive decorations for events like this.
