For the second year, Auburn will be the setting for a film festival.
The Auburn Adventure Film Festival showcases films about the filmmakers' adventures, and what that term means to them. The works explore the worlds of nature, culinary arts, photography, and relationships. The goal of the festival is to allow the audience to share the passion and adventure with the filmmakers.
The films are being organized and shown in “blocks,” according to the subject matter. Attendees can buy a pass for all the blocks, or pick the ones they are most interested in seeing. The blocks are “Destination Inspiration,” “Climbing to New Heights,” “Defying the Norm,” “Frozen Feats,” “Aquatic Ascent,” and “The Power of Freedom.”
The first block of films deal with inspiration itself, and how their adventures inspired the filmmakers. “Climbing” focuses on stories of people who pushed themselves to new heights, while “Defying the Norm” are films about unusual subjects. “Frozen Feats,” as might be expected, explores outdoor adventures, and “Aquatic Ascent” deals with the sea. The final block explores how to be fearless in a complex world.
An opening night party, a mixer, and an awards ceremony are also on the schedule for the weekend, as prizes will be awarded for Best Documentary, Best Short Film, and Best Film. The 2020 Auburn Adventure Film Festival takes place February 21-23 in downtown Auburn, at the Auburn Avenue Theater. Flyer printing can be used to create programs for events like this.
