Fair showcases innovative inventions from the public

The 5th annual Champlain Mini Maker Faire is taking place next month for two days. It is a presentation of Make magazine.

Over 50 makers will be showcasing their creations, which will include the likes of homebuilt robots, miniature race cars, and even musical instruments. Organizers are still accepting makers who are interested in participating in the fair. One participant will win the CMF Maker of the Year award.

There will be presentations, demonstrations, and workshops covering techniques like soldering, making jitterbugs, and solar energy.

Other fun events will be a performance of the Dancing Drones, a rockets launch, and a runway show. In addition, there will be two make-and-take activities. Food and drink will be available for purchase as well.

Each fair has a ChampBot Challenge and this one is no different. This year’s challenge is to make a remote-controlled lake monster.

This event attracts makers from all over the area, including nearby Hinesburg. To advertise, organizers are likely to have invested in printing services such as flyer and brochure printing.

The Champlain Mini Maker Faire will be held at Shelburne Farms’ Coach Barn from September 24 to 25 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for children aged 11 to 17. To find more about this event, call 802-863-5956 x206.
