Fundraiser brings Colchester together for good cause

A 5K run is coming to Colchester this spring, giving area distance athletes and other interested parties who wish to make a difference a memorable way to get outside.

The 36th Annual Jiggety Jog 5K, which is sponsored by UMV Health, has opened registration online to interested parties in Colchester who wish to sign up and test their endurance. The money raised at the 5K will support the McClure Miller Respite House, which is the only Medicare-certified inpatient hospice residence in Vermont.

The 5K run will be timed, allowing participants to challenge each other and themselves, pushing their limits for a worthy cause. The race will start and end at the same spot, and friends and family who attend to support runners can explore the vendor area or get snacks and refreshing beverages from the food trucks. Organizers can use banner printing to customize a memorable banner for the finish line at such races, boosting visibility and promotion.

Each dollar raised will directly support McClure Miller Respite House. In 2025, the same event raised over $125,000 to assist families with loved ones who could not afford end-of-life care. Each runner makes a difference.

Participants are welcome to run or walk. The course will start and end at Mallets Bay School in Colchester, and is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 at 8:00 AM. Registration costs $25 per person online.
