Colchester to do its part for America 250

As the nation turns 250, Colchester is getting ready to acknowledge the milestone with a day full of fun events.

The day starts with the 4th of July Parade, which will begin at Colchester High School. From there, marchers will move down Blakely Road, ending the procession at Lavigne Road. Roads will close for the duration of the parade, which is anticipated to last about an hour.

The event schedule includes a 5K Fun Run, which will start at Middle Road. Registration for the run will be held at Union Memorial School, and the fee is $5. Bayside Beach will also be open, but there will be no lifeguards on duty.

Bayside Park is the location for many of the day’s activities. These include food vendors, inflatables, and live entertainment featuring The Hitmen. Inflatables and vendors will be on site from 5.00 pm until 9.00 pm. Among the food vendors are Maharaja Spice with Indian food; Waffley Good featuring ice cream treats; and Parking Lot Pizza. The Hitmen are a party band playing the sounds of the 1970s and 1980s.

Fireworks cap off the day, starting at dusk. They will be fired from the Bayside Softball Field.

The action takes place on the holiday of July 4 itself. The parade begins at 10.00 am, and the Fun Run starts at 8.15 am. Registration for the run is from 7.30 am until 8.00 am. Organizers of outdoor events like this can use banner printing to create sturdy decorations for them.
