Brattleboro Museum and Art Center is hosting several virtual events next month that are related to current exhibitions.
The first event is a lecture and will take place on January 14. It will be given by Helen Sheumaker, and is related to the exhibition "Linking us Fondly: Hairwork in 19th Century America". It will be available on both Zoom and Facebook Live.
Next is a conversation with artist Lois Dodd, whose work is featured in the exhibit "Figuration Never Died: New York Painterly Painting, 1950 to 1970". It can be watched on January 19 on Zoom or Facebook Live.
The last one, on January 21, is a demonstration of tintype photography hosted by Rachel Portesi, who is featured in the "Hair Portraits" exhibition. It can be watched on Zoom or Facebook Live, after which a question and answer session will follow.
Other virtual events for the month will include a workshop on making mini ice shanties out of recycled materials. For those who want to visit in person, the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Guests must wear a mask and provide contact information.
Brattleboro printing services companies often help advertise upcoming events like these.
All virtual events will begin at 7:00 PM and are free of charge. Contact the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center at 802-257-0124 for more information.
