The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition is taking place next month in Brattleboro.
This is a national awards celebration and the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center will be serving as the Vermont affiliate of these awards. The competition is open to students from Grade 7 through Grade 12. All of the work must have been created in 2020, with the exception of the Senior Portfolio category, and there is no limit to the number of entries one person can submit.
There are 28 categories in the awards including Architecture and Industrial Design, Comic Art, Critical Essay, Dramatic Script, Mixed Media, Short Story and Senior Portfolio. Each category has a gold key winner, a silver key and honorable mentions. Participants can also win scholarships and other prizes. All of the entries will be exhibited at the museum until the awards ceremony takes place.
Brattleboro poster printing firms are sometimes asked by organizers of such events to provide advertising products like Posters. These can be displayed in schools, community centers, and other public places.
The submitted entries will be shown at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center from February 19 to March 6. The awards presentation will take place on March 6 beginning at 12:00 PM. For more information about the awards or the categories, contact the museum at 802-257-0124.
