A Band of Brothers is a tribute for the Allman Brothers, but they are also a highly regarded group of talented musicians who play in other groups such as Band of Killers, Slightly Stoopid, and more.
The band was the idea of Boston-based guitarists Johnny Trama and Ryan Taylor, who wanted to bring together a collection of talent that could perform in the tradition of the Allman Brothers, giving audiences exciting shows each night.
In addition to Trama and Taylor, the current lineup includes keyboardist Matt Zeiner, who played with the Allman Brothers on one of their tours, and wrote songs for them, before returning to his own band. Johnny Trama has played with legends like Jesse Dee and Bettye LaVette, honing his skills in Blues, soul, and rock, while bassist Jesse Williams has played with artists including the North Mississippi Allstars and Louis Walker.
Drummer Tom Arey has spent time with Peter Wolf’s Midnight Travelers, and percussionist Brendan Tomaney, who brings a jazz sensibility with him, learned his craft with bands such as Pink Talking Fish. This array of talent ensures A Band of Brothers has a deep bench to draw on. A concert review says:
“ . . . the Allman Brothers tribute band was exceptional . . .”
The group will appear in Brattleboro on November 27, where organizers of the concert can promote it using poster printing to create advertising.
