Two rock bands are set to appear in Brattleboro in the coming weeks.
King Buffalo and The Swell Fellas will be coming to The Stone Church. King Buffalo is a trio comprising drummer Scott Donaldson, Dan Reynolds on bass, and Sean McVay as guitarist and vocalist. The group first got together in 2013, and is based in Rochester, New York. Members cite Rage Against the Machine and Pink Floyd among their influences.
Critics say their music includes elements from progressive, psychedelic, and stoner rock, but the band members describe their efforts as heavy psych, a sound that has evolved from the psychedelic movement of the 1960s. It has a more intense, darker feeling than is typical of psychedelic rock. King Buffalo dropped their latest album, “Regenerator,” earlier this year. A review of their live shows says:
“This trio of young musicians absolutely blew everyone away. . .”
The Swell Fellas are also a trio, based in Ocean City, Maryland, where they began their musical career while they were still in college. They learned their craft by covering classic heavy metal songs and improvising jams. The Swell Fellas are Chris and Conner Poole, brothers, and their friend Mark Rohrer. Chris is a drummer, Conner plays guitar, and Rohrer is a rock guitarist, who is now handling the bass.
The concert is scheduled for February 16 at The Stone Church in Brattleboro. Organizers of events like this can advertise using poster printing.
