Lola Kirke will be performing at The Stone Church, although she may currently be better known as an actor than a singer. Born in London and brought up in New York City, Kirke may have gotten her musical talent from her father Simon Kirke, who was the drummer for rock bands Free and Bad Company.
Most people will probably recognize Kirke for her roles in such films as “Gone Girl,” “Gemini,” and “Lost Girls.” She recently appeared on the HBO series “Winning Time,” and is scheduled to work on “Three Women,” a limited series that will run on Showtime.
She released an EP in 2016, which kickstarted her musical career. She followed that up with three singles and “Heart Head West,” her debut album, which was released on Downtown Records. The label also released Kirke’s cover of “Sip the Wine” by Rick Danko. Third Man Records signed her back in 2021.
She dropped “Lady for Sale,” her second LP, in 2022, to rave reviews. No Depression said, “A new era of sparkle-country is upon us. Lola Kirke is here to usher it in.”
A concert review says:
“Her voice is majestic. It is everything - manages to be a sweet mother’s lullaby in one song, and a trippy hippie's choir in the next. LOLA's concert was amazing!!”
Lola Kirke will be at The Stone Church in Brattleboro on Wednesday, July 26. Organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create programs.
