Heavy rock band coming to Brattleboro

An underground band from the East Coast is coming to Vermont.

Freedom Hawk was founded in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2003, and have released six studio albums to date, dropping the latest, “Take All You Can,” in 2022. They are currently signed with Ripple Music, which also handled their 2018 album, “Beast Remains.”

The latest album is a result of the band making the best of the pandemic. When live performances were cancelled, Freedom Hawk put the energy they would have spent touring creating their own rehearsal and recording space, and writing the music for “Take All You Can.” One review of the album says:

“This is the sixth album from Virginias finest and for me it is the finest release as well. This album consists of nine fine songs of good quality.”

According to the band members themselves, they wanted to expand into new territory, so they did some exploring on the blues side of things, and are pleased with the result. In performance, they are noted for the influence of 1970s and 1980s heavy metal on their work, which makes it familiar and unique at the same time.

They have toured extensively and appeared at festivals such as SXSW and Stoner Hands of Doom in the U.S., and Roadburn and Desertfest London in Europe.

Freedom Hawk will be at The Stone Church in Brattleboro on September 7. Organizers of events like this can turn to poster printing to create advertising for the performance.
