Fans invited to get freaky with unique band

A musical group that encourages everyone to let their freak flag fly is coming to Brattleboro.

Bella’s Bartok is returning to The Stone Church, where they will encourage audiences to embrace life in all its strangeness. The group has become famous for its over-the-top theatricality in its shows. Influenced by genres including Americana, pop, folk, and punk, Bella’s Bartok has blended them all into a rich and unique sound.

Bella’s Bartok started as street performers in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and gradually grew into a full band, with accordion and brass that has been delighting fans for years. They have been on stage with outfits such as the Meat Puppets, Jenny and the Mexicats, The Indigo Girls, and many others. Some of the bands that have influenced Bella’s Bartok include Frank Zappa, Oingo Boingo, and Tom Waits.

Their joyful, upbeat performances are viewed as a challenge to audiences to stand up to adversity and fight against oppression. A review says:
“Bella’s Bartok is kind of like circus punk music. It’s really fun, lively, upbeat, sort of dark and sinister with lots of dancing and rowdiness. It’s such a big band . . . they’re all just beautiful and fabulous!”

Bella’s Bartok will be at The Stone Church in Brattleboro for the 6th Annual Strange Ones Ball on December 30 and 31. When events like this are on the calendar, organizers can use poster printing to create imaginative Posters to advertise them.
