Event for Cheese Lovers in Brattleboro

This year marks the inaugural year for cheesy fun to be held in Dummerston, a short distance from Brattleboro.

The first annual Kampfires Grilled Cheese Festival will take place at the Kampfires Campground, Inn and Entertainment, on Route 5. THE PIT at the campground is the location of the event, where a variety of skilled vendors will be offering their various versions of a classic American dish that everyone loves—grilled cheese sandwiches. The Rollin’ Stone Food Truck will be on hand as well, and Whetstone Craft Beers will provide fresh, local brews. Wine and cider will also be available.

Recipes for melting cheese on bread go back to the Ancient Romans. The grilled cheese sandwich as it is known today dates from early in the 20th century, and the person generally credited with its invention is James L. Kraft. He began by selling cheese, but spoilage was a problem, so he invented what was—and still is—called “processed cheese.” Kraft Foods is now part of Kraft Heinz and is one of the largest beverage and food companies in the world.

Entertainment will comprise live music, yard games, and more. Arrangements are still being finalized, so additional vendors and musicians are still to be added to the schedule. Flyer printing can be used to create informative handouts for attendees at events like this.

The festival is free, and will be held June 19, from 12.00 pm until 6.00 pm.
