Brattleboro gets the LowDown

A powerhouse brass band will appear in Brattleboro this summer.

The LowDown Brass Band (LDB) mixes the gritty Chicago sound with the beat heard throughout New Orleans. The outfit is an all-brass ensemble that boasts a frontline comprising saxophones, trombones, and trumpets, and a backline of a sousaphone and drums.

Billa Camp, a Chicago hip-hop and recording artist, frequently collaborates with the LDB. Camp’s ferocity, combined with grooves, movement, improvisation, and vocal harmony gives the LDB’s output a diverse sound.

Their originality has led them to land spots at a number of festivals, including Cotati Jazz Fest, Wakarusa, the Do-Divine Fest in Chicago, the Salmon Fest in Alaska, Frendly Gathering, the Chicago Jazz Fest, the Lagunitas Beer Circus, and the Montreal Jazz Festival (where they headlined). They also held a residency at Shoe Fest, which is a three-day event held in Manteno, Illinois, for a year.

In addition to appearing at various festivals, LDB maintains a grueling worldwide touring schedule and has appeared with such stars as Bon Jovi and Galactic. The group has released a total of six albums, dropping their latest, “LowDown Nights,” in 2022. A review says:

“Audiences find it difficult to stand still during a Lowdown Brass Band concert.”

The LowDown Brass Band will be at The Stone Church in Brattleboro on August 5. Poster printing is the perfect tool for organizers of events like this to use when they want to create publicity.
