A young bluesman on his way to stardom is coming to Brattleboro.
Eddie 9V (which stands for 9-volt) is from Georgia and is making a name for himself playing in festivals and clubs throughout the area, impressing audiences of all kinds with his original soulful and retro songs. He takes his inspiration from older artists like Muddy Waters, Percy Sledge, and Howlin’ Wolf.
Eddie recorded “Left My Soul in Memphis,” his debut album, in 2019. The next year, he dropped “Way Down the Alley (Live at Blind Willie’s).” He also has “The Come Up,” a digital 45, to his credit, and had the satisfaction of seeing Spotify add it to the channel’s Official Nu-Blue playlist.
In 2021, he released “Little Black Flies,” an album recorded live in the studio to captured all the ambient noise of a live session, including background chatter, something that was common at one time. Eddie 9V hoped to recapture the energy of those live sessions.
His next venture took him to legendary Capricorn Studios in Macon, Georgia, where giants like the Allman Brothers have recorded. His effort there, titled “Capricorn,” displays as much energy as his earlier work, but is more focused.
A review says:
“Eddie 9V is a brilliant talent with a future that knows no boundaries.”
Eddie 9V will be at The Stone Church in Brattleboro on June 28. Organizers who plan events like this can use poster printing to create suitable advertising.
