Tour for gardeners near Cottonwood Heights

Gardeners, homeowners, or anyone who is curious about how to grow plants successfully in Utah should consider joining the experts for a September tour.

Experts from the Conservation Garden Park will be leading the Waterwise Perennial Tour, about the best ornamental grasses and perennial flowers to be planted in Central and Northern Utah. They will touch on how to plan a Localscape and give suggestions for those who might want to add Utah-friendly plants to their landscaping. They will also discuss which grasses and perennials are the top-performing varieties in the state.

A Localscape is a yard designed specifically for the local area. It will take advantage of the plants that grow best in Utah, and will offer increased curb appeal, lower maintenance, and improved irrigation, which results in better water usage. A Localscape makes the entire property more functional.

The Conservation Garden Park offers suggestions for the best ways to use water in landscapes in Utah, with water shortages predicted as early as 2040. The Park shows landscapes that use water efficiently but are also easy to maintain and attractive. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create informative handouts for attendees.

The tour will be held September 18, from 10:00 am until 11:30 am, at the Conservation Garden Park in West Jordan, a few miles from Cottonwood Heights. Attendees should meet at the Conservation Garden Park’s Education Center. Everyone is required to register to attend the event.
