Beer festival returns to ski resort near Cottonwood Heights

The snowy slopes of Solitude Mountain Resort give way to warmer temperatures and lawn chairs next month for the Big Cottonwood Canyon Brew Fest.

The beer festival is expanding this year to a two-day event, which includes activities for all ages, including a free ride on a mountain chairlift.

Visitors can sample craft beers from across the state, along with appetizing food options while enjoying live music on the lawn of the Last Chance Lodge. More than a dozen Utah breweries will be on hand with a selection of ales and lagers.

According to the Utah Brewers Guild, beer is big business in the state. Its 37 member breweries employ about 12,000 people in full- and part-time positions, and annually contribute over $500m to the Utah economy.

Admission to the event is free, while beer lovers can pay $20 for a brew fest mug and four beer tasting tickets. Additional sampling tickets will be available.

Businesses who participate in events such as this often have area Print shops create an eye-catching logo to draw attention to their products.

The Big Cottonwood Canyon Brewfest will be held on Father’s Day weekend, June 14 and 15, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm each day, at Solitude Mountain, 12000 Big Cottonwood Canyon Road. Further information is available on the resort website.
