Snow, lights, magic, and fireworks are set to brighten the New Year's celebration at Solitude Mountain.
The ski resort, 14 miles east of Cottonwood Heights, will host an action-packed evening of entertainment leading up to the final hours of 2025.
Afternoon activities begin with an outdoor concert in the village center followed by skiers and snowboarders displaying their skills in a competition on rails and other mountain features. Visitors can also enjoy watching a demonstration of the resort’s highly trained dogs from the Avalanche Rescue Team. The dogs will be put through exercises that are part of the life-saving service they provide.
The focus then moves inside for a magic show and lasagna dinner at the Last Chance Lodge. Later, Solitude staff members will don their skis to descend the hill in a synchronized torchlight parade, which will culminate in a fireworks display as they near the bottom of the run. The activities are free to attend while refreshments will be available for purchase.
