Juicy, hazy, hoppy, and bitter are terms you can expect to hear at the Big Cottonwood Brew Fest coming soon to the mountains near Cottonwood Heights.
The annual festival will be held at the Solitude Ski Resort, located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, about 25 minutes east of Cottonwood Heights. Known for its steep ski terrain and deep powder runs, the resort trades its winter attractions for an early summer fun festival of beer, food and music, just one of a number of off-season activities hosted at Solitude.
At least eight of the state's best breweries will be on hand for the 2nd annual event on June 16 pouring their craft IPA's, lagers, pale ales, sours and more. There will be a range of gastronomic offerings and live music will bring a summer vibe to the mountain event.
There is lodging available in the Solitude resort village and the festival also offers a mountain shuttle service and plenty of parking.
The festival is held on the Last Chance lawn, where tables and tents will be set up. Vendors would do well to contact a local printer that can provide them with branded promotional products for the numerous raffles and giveaways throughout the afternoon.
The Big Cottonwood Brew Fest has free admission, but tickets for a souvenir mug and three tastings cost $15. Further tastings can be purchased individually. The taps will be flowing from noon to 5 pm on June 16.
