The NOH8 photo shoot will take place near Cottonwood Heights, Utah in September.
The NOH8 campaign is a non-profit organization that started in 2008 after Proposition 8 passed in the state of California. This resulted in the state’s amendment of the Constitution to allow same-sex marriages. Their silent, photographic protest, created by Adam Bouska and Jeff Parshley, promotes a message against bullying and discrimination.
Those interested in taking part in the NOH8 open photo shoot should dress in a white shirt and be camera-ready. Each participant is required to wear a NOH8 temporary tattoo and duct Tape over their mouth. Adam Bouska will take 10 photos of each participant. One photograph will be chosen, their photo edited, and presented within approximately eight weeks.
Single photos cost $40 and group photos cost $25 per person. Proceeds from the event will go towards continuing the mission of the NOH8 campaign. Brochure printing is a way for event organizers to provide information as they are easy to distribute and cost-effective.
The open photo shoot will be on Saturday, September 10, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Photographs are taken on a first come, first served basis. It will be held at the Hampton Inn Salt Lake City- Cottonwood at 3210 East Millrock Avenue in Salt Lake City, Utah 84121. Visit the website for more information.
