The City Nature Challenge Bioblizt is set to take place close to Cottonwood Heights this spring.
Tracy Aviary is the host of this outdoor event. Since 2011, the organization has been focused on protecting birds and their natural habitats throughout Utah through projects and educational services and programs.
Admission to this event is entirely free for all participants. To reserve a place, anyone who wishes to take part in the challenge can pre-register online for a time slot between 11:00 am and 11:30 am, 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm, or for 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
To participate in the City Nature Challenge, nature-loving attendees from Cottonwood Heights will use the iNaturalist app to photograph any animal, plant, tree, or insect that they encounter to add to the application’s extensive database of flora and fauna from across Utah and many other areas across the country and the rest of the globe. The organizers of related in-person challenge events regularly use methods such as flyer printing to distribute helpful printouts of event details to anyone who is interested in taking part.
To ensure that all necessary health and safety practices are followed, social distancing will be necessary for all participants throughout the event.
The City Nature Challenge Bioblizt is scheduled to be hosted at the Jordan River Nature Center on Saturday, May 1.
