SALT Contemporary Dance is coming to Cottonwood Heights to present the LINK Dance Festival, a weeklong event that promises to be fun, inspiring, and educational.
SALT Contemporary Dance celebrates evolution and progression in the art of dance. The nonprofit organization works with up-and-coming choreographers from all over the world, who create new dances with the help of SALT dancers. The classically trained dancers have performed with, or been members of, such companies as the Utah Regional Ballet, the Oakland Ballet, the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, the Odyssey Dance Theatre, and the Northwest Dance Project. SALT goes on to share the new works with audiences by holding workshops, festivals, master classes, and concerts.
The LINK program will run for a week and end with performances, all to be held at Butler Middle School on South 2700 East in Cottonwood Heights. During the week, SALT will hold contemporary and ballet dance classes, workshops, and then go on to rehearse and present new material.
The performances are on May 18 and 19, both starting at 7:30 pm. The first evening will be a full-length concert featuring 12 dance companies, including SALT. The second evening is another full-length concert.
Further information is available at www.saltdance.com, which is also now selling tickets.
Events like this can be enhanced if organizers work with a flyer printing company to develop a handout with a schedule of events.
