Karate time in Cottonwood Heights

A karate tournament is to be held in Cottonwood Heights this November.

The IMU Utah Championships comes courtesy of the International Martial Arts Association of Utah. Open to all ages and levels, the event will have the Kata and Kumite Divisions for this staging. Practitioners are free to take part in whichever division suits them.

The Karate Championships allows individuals to compete in their field of study either against an opponent or alone. Criteria for judging are extensive, but include speed, form, technique, and posture. All residents are welcome to join as spectators, as the event is family friendly.

The cost for entry to the event will vary depending on the time period in which tickets are purchased. Until November 6, the fees are $70 for a single event, and $80 for two events. After this date, there will be a price increase of $10 on both the available prices. Registration is available now via the tournament website.

Graphic design can offer innovative ways for participants and organizers to create a visual appeal at events such as this one.

The tournament will take place on Saturday, November 12 at the Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation, which is located at 7500 South 2700 East, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. It begins at 8:30 am with an opening ceremony, followed by the start of the tournament at 9:00 am.
